Dress Code Adjustments for Cold Weather: December 15th-16th
Due to the forecast of extremely cold weather from Monday, December 15th, to Tuesday, December 16th, please be aware of the following adjustments to the student dress code:
Outerwear: As per current policy, students should wear school-appropriate jackets or sweatshirts, as long as they are hoodless. Hoodies are permitted for students in grades pre-k through 4 only.
Bottoms: School-appropriate jeans, joggers, or sweatpants are allowed. *No pajamas
Headwear: Knit caps, earmuffs, and beanies are encouraged for warmth. However, these must be removed once inside the school building.
Footwear: Regular school shoes are required at all times.
Layering: We strongly encourage layering clothing to ensure students stay warm.
Please make sure these guidelines are followed to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for all students.
* This is only for the date range listed. We will let you know when these cold-weather adjustments are applicable for future occurrences.

GCES update about Free Dress Days: after careful consideration, we will continue the Free Dress Fridays. However, bottoms must be knee length. We understand that parents have paid to support a Free Dress fundraiser and we respect and honor that good deed. Sorry for the confusion.
GCES PBIS Jean Day Reminder: students who pay/paid may wear school appropriate shirt and jeans. No shorts, joggers, sweatpants, gowns, pajamas. Thanks for helping us maintain a positive learning environment. 👖💙🤍🖤

It is with immense honor, gratitude, and enthusiasm that I introduce myself as your incoming Principal, Mrs. Octavia Warren. For 22 years, I have dedicated myself to education, serving as a classroom teacher, assistant principal, and most recently, as the principal of Central Middle School.
My commitment to fostering environments where students and staff thrive is at the core of my professional life. I strive to amplify Grand Coteau Elementary’s strengths, support and empower the staff and students, continue to cultivate a growth mindset, and educate the whole child academically, socially, and emotionally.
