Hello, I am Ms. Smith and I have been a Tiger for most of my life. Quick history, graduated a Viking from Cass Midway R-I south of Kansas City Missouri; then graduated with a Master's degree in History from the University of Missouri-Columbia (Go Tigers!!); after advice from a native Louisianan in the MU History Department I moved to Lafayette and earned my Master's Degree and teaching certification at the University of Southwestern Louisiana (USL). For you young ones reading this that is what ULL was called before, a fighting Cajun but only for a few years. After teaching at ULL for a few years I went to work at Opelousas Junior High in 2004 becoming a Tiger once again. After seven years teaching reading first, then US History at OJ; I moved to OHS where I was able to teach my last 7th grade class three more years (Hey- Class of 2015). I have stayed here, a member of the OHS Tiger Pride, offering access to college credit through AP and Dual Enrollment as an Adjunct Professor for LSUE (Tiger still).
